The Hyundai Genesis sound system achieves a new standard in automotive acoustical excellence while providing an exciting and satisfying musical experience.
The heart of the Lexicon audio system is a matrix/discrete surround sound processor using Lexicon’s proprietary Logic 7 processing technology. The algorithm is programmed to the contours of the acoustic environment within the Hyundai Genesis interior and provides four pre-adjusted listening positions.
Special attention was given to loudspeaker selection and placement to ensure an optimal sonic environment for surround sound playback.
Many of today’s automotive sound systems were first developed for use in cinemas or consumer home theaters – both very different environments from the passenger cabin of an automobile. The Lexicon system installed in the Hyundai Genesis was designed to optimize the acoustic characteristics of an automobile – the relatively small cabin size, the close proximity of the loudspeakers to the listeners, and the specific seating locations – assuring an unprecedented level of realism and tonal accuracy.
To further enhance your listening experience, the Lexicon system is compatible with a wide variety of media, including CD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, MP3, Video CD and compatible formats, including PCM, Dolby® Digital, and DTS®.
The end result is a phenomenal sound system capable of supporting all of your automotive acoustical needs – you’ll love this system so much you won’t want to stop driving!
System is optional on the Genesis 3.8
A multi-channel audio processing system that converts all stereo sources into 7.1 channel playback architectures. Listeners in every seat will experience a consistent soundstage with greater ambience to complement the original sound track.
Discrete Logic 7 extends the Lexicon system capability to include 5.1-channel source material from DVD/DVD-A/DTS CD media. Expanding 5.1 recordings into a 7.1 playback provides improved staging and clarity particularly beneficial to rear seat passengers.
System is optional on the Genesis 3.8 and standard on the Genesis 4.6 and 5.0 R-Spec models.
The three-way, bi-amplified front speakers feature both a midrange and woofer placed in the front door with the tweeter placed in the sail panel. The center channel consists of both midrange and tweeter mounted on the instrument panel. Mounted in the rear doors, the side channels feature both a woofer and tweeter to enhance the image presented to the rear passengers. Mounted in the rear package tray are the midrange and tweeter for the surround channels as well as the subwoofer. Powerful in their performance but elegant in appearance, you’ll need to hear them to believe just how good this system sounds!
The Lexicon system’s metal cone loudspeakers are designed for greater output levels with lower distortion characteristics. The cone material’s rigidity and low mass, provides extended dynamic capability and frequency response for a rich, natural sound quality.
The Hyundai Genesis Lexicon 500 watt power amplifier provides 11 channels of pure power distribution for exceptional performance. All channels are driven at 40 watts with two dedicated subwoofer channels at 80 watts each. All 40 watt channels are driven at 20Hz-20kHz, 10% THD (Total Harmonic Distortion.)
